In performance marketing since 2013, with over €50 million in ad spend under my responsibility. You work with me directly – no junior, no account manager in between.
Free and without obligation. If Google Ads isn’t worth it for you, I will tell you – rather than sell you something.
Martin Murk – senior SEA specialist and founder of ziel&marke. Eifel region near Cologne, working remotely across Germany.
Since 2013
in e-commerce, and more than ten years in performance marketing.
€50 million
in ad spend that I have managed profitably over the years.
No detour
You speak to the person who also builds and runs your account.
Core business
Paid search – what I actually do
The focus is paid search: Google Ads and Microsoft Advertising. Everything else joins in when it serves the goal – not because the channel happens to exist.
Foundations
Account structure and campaign setup in Google Ads and Microsoft Advertising – built from scratch or taken over from an existing account.
Conversion tracking and consent set up properly. Without reliable data, every optimisation is guesswork.
Ongoing management
Shopping and Performance Max steered rather than left to run: feed, exclusions, segmentation, clean attribution.
Search terms, keywords, negative lists – maintained continuously, not configured once and forgotten.
Bidding strategies up to value-based bidding on customer lifetime value instead of a narrow focus on ROAS.
Reporting and additional channels
Reporting you can understand in five minutes – no wall of numbers, no jargon.
Meta, LinkedIn and Pinterest in addition, where audience and objective call for them.
One month in an account I look after. The absolute figures are obscured – the trend is real.
Process
How a project starts
Intro call
Thirty minutes, free of charge. Your situation, goals and budget – plus an honest view on whether the channel is worth it for you at all.
Analysis
I go through account, tracking and competitors and tell you where budget is being lost today and where the potential sits.
Implementation
I rebuild, set up and go live – together with you, not around you.
Ongoing management
Continuous optimisation and reporting you can use to make your case internally.
Terms
What you will want to know first
Your account stays yours
Full control and full access – even if we stop working together at some point.
No minimum term
Project-based or ongoing, whichever suits your situation.
Existing account, not a fresh start
I analyse what is already there, lift unused potential and build on it. A complete rebuild is rarely necessary.
A realistic timeline
Month 1: setup and data foundation. Months 2–3: efficiency through optimisation. From month 4: stable, predictable results.
Three billing models
A monthly retainer for ongoing work, a project price for defined jobs such as an audit or an account build, an hourly rate for interim work. Which one fits your case is something we settle in the intro call.
When capacity runs short
Then I say so in good time instead of delivering poor work. And because I keep account and documentation in order throughout, someone else can take over at any point – the account is yours in any case.
Evidence
Three projects, briefly
Anonymised – industry, size, approach and timeframe are accurate. If you want to know what sits behind them, ask me in the intro call.
Tourism · 150 employees · over 2 years
More bookings, ROAS unchanged
Situation
Internationalisation would not get going: outside the home market, the bookings simply did not come.
Approach
Made existing booking data usable for bid management, built automation and machine learning into the campaigns, tested continuously.
Result
Booking volume rose without the ROAS giving way – growth that was not bought with worse efficiency.
B2B e-commerce · under 10 employees · 6 months
+30 % conversion volume
Situation
The numbers had been flat for months and growth had come to a standstill.
Approach
Sharpened the automated bidding strategies, set up continuous A/B testing and reworked landing pages and funnel.
Result
Thirty percent more conversions within six months – without additional budget taken from elsewhere.
Agency · 50 employees · 8 months
Eight months of white‑label work for an agency
Situation
A capacity gap in the paid team, while client projects in tourism, finance and e-commerce had to keep running.
Approach
Stepped in as a white-label freelancer: planning and running the campaigns under the agency’s brand, embedded in their processes.
Result
Campaigns kept shipping on time – for eight months an agency trusted me with its client accounts.
ziel&marke
About Martin
ziel&marke is the online marketing practice of Martin Murk, based in the Eifel region near Cologne – focused on Google Ads and performance marketing, working remotely across Germany.
I have worked in e-commerce since 2013 and help companies as a senior SEA specialist to make their online marketing measurably successful. From strategy through account build to day-to-day management, I do the work myself – whoever you speak to in the intro call is the person who later implements it.
I explain complex topics without jargon. Not as a service promise, but because otherwise the decisions stop being yours and become mine.
“Lasting success in online marketing happens when strategy and transparency go hand in hand.”

In addition
What else comes with it
Clients usually book these three alongside a campaign project. They sit here deliberately small – the core business is paid search.
For UX reviews and conversion optimisation I work with Metzger Consult (opens in a new tab) – for the cases where the campaign is not the problem, but what happens after the click.
